TEXT: Romans 8:37-39. “Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. 38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Introduction: These verses contain one of the most comforting promises in all Scripture. Believers have always had to face hardships in many forms: persecution, illness, imprisonment, and even death. It sometimes causes us to fear that they have been abandoned by Christ. But Paul exclaims that it is impossible to separate us from Christ presence. If we believe these assurances, we will not be afraid (Ro. 8:31). The Good Samaritan is type of Christ (Lk 10:30)

Certain Judgement of God: In his kindness, God holds back his judgment, giving people time to turn from their sin (Ro.2:4). We have mistaken God’s patience as approval of the wrong way as we are living. Although God does not usually punish us immediately for sin, his eventual judgment is certain. We don’t know exactly when it will happen, but we know that no one will escape that final encounter with the Creator. In Philippians Paul states I know how to be abased and I know how to abound. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Peter states that we should not be surprise (“think it not strange”) because of the fiery trials that come our way. People are condemned not for what they don’t know but for what they do with what they know (Ro.2:12-15). The Good news is that Jesus Christ died for our sins (Ro. 5:8).

Continued Covered by His Word: We believe in the Word of God. Whenever you have a difficulty the Word of God, the Bible is our primary resource. It has a response for every situation. Any time we are confronted with trials our response must be with fervent prayer based on a promise in the Word. We serve the most High God (Johovah-Elyon) (Genesis 14:19,20) Not only does God own all things and all people, he delivers them into the hands of His people. God may not remove us from adversity, but He will deliver it into our hands. He will give us victory over it. He promises to subdue certain problems His people experience.

Conquerors through is Blood: Nothing can separate us from Christ’s presence. God tells us how great his love is, so that we feel totally secure in him. If we believe these overwhelming assurances, we will not be afraid. We as believers are in Covenant relationship with God. God promised Abraham he would love and show favor to his descendants. Because we are the children of Abraham through this covenant of faith. Abraham blessing was dependent on Christ redemptive act on the cross by the shedding of his blood. It was the saving benefit and the purchase by his blood that results in our covenant relationship with God and faith in his blood (Ro.3:25) The Good Samaritan is a type of Christ who demonstrated his compassion to us.
